What is a Medical Assistant?
A medical assistant is defined as a medical professional who supports the work of physicians and other health professionals in outpatient and ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. They are responsible for completing clinical and admirative tasks such as, preparing a patient for an examination, taking a patient’s medical history, answering the telephone, or scheduling appointments. Medical assistants keep physicians’ offices running smoothly and efficiently.
